Title Environmental Engineer
Job Description CH2M HILL’s Raleigh and Charlotte, NC offices are seeking an entry level Environmental Engineer for assistance with environmental investigation and cleanup projects for private and government clients. The position provides the opportunity for field work, design, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and report writing. We are targeting a June 2009 start date for this position.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of field and office tasks related to planning, evaluating and implementing environmental investigations and remediation projects. Typical tasks would include conducting environmental sampling, remedial construction oversight, data evaluation and analyses, and assisting with report writing. Under close supervision, the Engineer performs the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Work is reviewed for quality and as part of a mentoring process. No supervisory responsibility.
Selected candidate will be required to successfully complete HAZWOPER training, if not already certified.
Salary is commensurate with an entry level position.

Basic Qualifications BS degree in Environmental Engineering or an Engineering program with an Environmental focus. Must have completed coursework in environmental regulations, groundwater, soils, and/or environmental remediation.

Preferred Qualifications MS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
Internships or projects related to environmental compliance or remediation.
3 months to 3 years environmental consulting experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
EIT or ability to obtain.
40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
